"...trust me. you're golden. like an egg. listen to me: YOU'RE DOING WHAT YOU DREAMED OF DOING. this is it. don't things stand in your way of realizing you're beautifully created for this moment. seriously." -J*
One of my favorite photograhers [to follow] posted this on her FB page...not to ME, but to those in general and today, it just resonated.
Stop.
Breathe.
Relax.

• So at the Health Fair today, Yes, it is my birthday today, but I still had to work. Anyhoo, I did this thing with a chiropractor, where he scans your feet to see how you stand and then you get a print out.
So I look at Eden's (daughter #1) scan and she has nice young, 11 year old balanced feet.
I get mine.
And its all red along the curve of my foot (outside part)...the right foot has more red than the left one (which has more yellow). So I am like, "Dang those are nice feet girl." Thinking that the red curve was a good thing.
I hand it to the chiro.
Apparently, the red in the middle isn't supposed to be there. Balanced is a kidney shape at the ball of your feet and a circle at the heel, with no red in between.... Needless to say, my right side is carrying more burden than my left (uh, maybe because I have a "hip ornament" that I carry on my left hip always) and I am also putting too much pressure on the outside of my feet (well, we can thank giving birth to FOUR children for that as well)....AND if I don't correct it, I will be one of those poor elderly stooped over people...
Did I also mention that my feet hurt NOW?!
DARN those flip flops!
Darn those children!
IM 39 today! I want to hear young news not old body news!!
So when I get home, I show Alex my foot scan and I explain to him that the chiro says that I need to get new shoes and that several of them need to be custom made ;)

I had the pleasure of meeting this little Lady, Ms. Taylor (or Tay as her mother calls her) on Sunday for a mini session. Earlier this summer, I was contacted by a woman who was going to participate in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer walk and she asked if I would donate for her auction. I said sure! And I am so lucky that Laura and Tay won the session.

At first, Taylor wanted nothing to do with me. She didn't cry and or cling to her mother, but she definitely gave me a wary eye and wanted me to stay at least an arms length distance away. But wouldn't you know it? A few fishies, a duck pond, and a favorite blanket later and we were the best of friends!

Yes Taylor is smiling...but she's also looking at her mother jumping around and making faces at her just above my shoulder....Whatever it takes to get the shot right Mom?

One of my favorite photos of Taylor. Check out those eyes!
What a beautiful girl. I hope to see her again very soon.

This beautiful Pecan Grove is where we will be taking the photos for the Jones Family. These were taken at the beginning of Spring when the leaves were first starting to pop out...Now, the leaves are beginning to fall in the nice fall colors, reds, yellows, and browns...this will be a perfect spot for our mini sessions!
These are some family sessions photographed out there last Fall. Its just such a beautiful scene!

If you are interested in having your family photoraphed and raising money for the Jones Family (who recently lost their daughter to complications resulting from Asthma, please please, contact me). Space is limited.

I think my body is falling apart! I am "this shy" of 39 and I swear all of a sudden I feel middle aged! How did this happen? I can remember running off to summer camp every summer, college, getting married....I remember when my big babies were little babies, but now the big one is a budding tween! Holy cow!
Why do I feel so old?
Maybe its the body aches.
The headaches.
I'm becoming a bit of a hypochondriac because now I need to find a chiropractor, because maybe my twisted painful back is why I am having headaches! I dont' know. I know the going belief is that you are as young as you feel. So maybe because I feel old, I am old (sigh). Does anyone else feel this way? All of a sudden, you wake up and you are almost middle aged and you realize that you aren't 30 anymore??
A few months ago, I saw a piece on the Today Show that said that 40 was the new 20 because magazines were opting to put the older actress/model on covers instead of the young whipper snappers. Could it be because all the young ones are in rehab? ;)
Or could it be that the beauty in being 40 is that you are no longer 20 or 30 and you have some history and you understand how life works sometimes and you trust that you are doing what you are put on the earth to do. You don't get too overly excited and you know just the right amount to give.
So hear I am. Headachy, backachy, sleep deprived, its a wonder that I can function at all.
On the other hand. I have four really neat daughters, and married to a man who balances out my daily crazy making so well. I also have two jobs...one that pays the bills and one that pays the soul. I am blessed and thankful and achy...and the truth of the matter is: God is good (all the time).
